UK gymnastics defeats Auburn for first road win in SEC since 1999

Published: January 11, 2013

Kentucky's gymnastics team defeated host Auburn 195.525-194.250, its first road win in a Southeastern Conference dual meet since UK topped the Tigers in 1999.

It was also Kentucky's first SEC season-opening win since 2008.

"We made 23 of 24 routines competed today," Coach Tim Garrison said. "We were consistent, but not exceptional. We are leaving Auburn feeling good about the win, but well aware that we are capable of much more."

Junior Audrey Harrison won the all-around competition with a combined 39.2.

She started the night with a 9.775 on uneven bars, followed by a 9.8 on vault and balance beam, and a 9.85 on floor exercise.

The all-around win for Harrison was the fifth of her career.
