A motorcyclist was killed in a crash with a pickup truck early Saturday morning at the intersection of Leestown Road and Greendale Road, Lexington police said. The Fayette County coroner’s office identified him as Brandon P. Morrison, 40, of Lexington.

Police said Morrison, traveling outbound on Leestown Road, struck a black 2003 GMC Sierra pickup truck driven by William Murray of Lexington, who was not injured. Police were called at 3:42 a.m. A witness said Murray was making a left turn under a green light onto inbound Leestown Road when the 2003 orange Harley hit his truck, police said.

Morrison, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said they suspect he was under the influence of alcohol, and they are investigating whether speed was a contributing factor.
