Jessamine County: Library's storytime is good fun for toddlers and parents

Parents and their children from birth to 2 years old are invited to Mother Goose Storytime at 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays at the Jessamine County Public Library, 600 South Main Street, Nicholasville. Stories, lap songs and finger plays are used to develop interaction between adults and their children. No registration is required. For more information call (859) 885-3523.

Program helps women build strength

The Jessamine County Health Department is offering "Strong Women," a 10-week moderate intensity exercise program for women age 50 and older. The program is designed to improve the health and well-being of middle-aged and older women by building strong bones and muscles and increasing balance and flexibility.

Other benefits include reduced risk for diabetes and improved self confidence, sleep and vitality. The free one-hour sessions begin Jan. 22 and continue every Tuesday and Thursday at 210 East Walnut Street in Nicholasville. No registration is required.
