Kentucky's Stoops lands fourth JUCO commitment

Published: January 16, 2013

Three-star junior-college cornerback Nate Willis announced his commitment to Kentucky on Wednesday.

Willis, originally from Pahokee, Fla., played the last two seasons for Arizona Western College. He will have two years of eligibility at Kentucky. The 6-foot, 180-pound cornerback is rated among the top 100 junior-college players by 24/7 Sports (46th), Rivals.com (54th) and ESPN (69th).

Willis is the 20th player to commit to Kentucky for the class of 2013, and the eighth to commit since Mark Stoops was named head coach. Four of those eight commitments have been from junior-college players.

Rivals.com now considers UK to have the No. 37 recruiting class in the country.

Blue-White game set

The first Blue-White spring football game of the Mark Stoops era will take place Saturday, April 13, the new coach announced Wednesday.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Commonwealth Stadium.

Stoops, who took the UK job in December after the firing of Joker Phillips, made the announcement on Twitter, telling UK fans, "Let's pack CWS for the first of many times in 2013."
