Kentucky State Police are investigating the death of a Madison County man who was found Wednesday outside his house.

Walter Coomer, 81, of Berea was found by relatives in a shallow stream beside his house on Paint Lick Road, said Trooper Paul Blanton, public affairs officer for the Richmond post.

Madison County 911 called state police to report the death. There were no obvious signs of foul play.

An autopsy is pending.
