Missing Hindman man found dead near mining road

A missing Hindman man was found dead Friday morning after his truck was reported abandoned on a Knott County mining road.

Eric Tysen Fugate, 30, had been reported missing less than 24 hours earlier, according to a news release from state police.

State police connected the truck to Fugate through a vehicle check and began a search of the area. His body was found, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of death is unknown.

An autopsy will be performed in Frankfort, according to the release.
