Stretch of Versailles Road to be repaved

Published: January 19, 2013

Two heavily-travelled parts of U.S. 60 will be repaved this year.

The 6.43-mile stretch of Versailles Road from New Circle Road in Lexington to the Martha Layne Collins Blue Grass Parkway in Woodford County will be repaved later this year, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced.

The $22.74 million project is scheduled to be complete by Dec. 1. L-M Asphalt Partners was awarded that contract.

Another project involves rehabilitating seven miles of U.S. 60 in Woodford County from the Franklin County line to mile point 7.3. A joint venture of H.G. Mays Corp. and Mago Construction will do the work at a cost of $13.19 million. That project is scheduled to be finished by Oct. 31.
