A man from the Wayland community of Floyd County has been charged with murder in the death of a Knott County man whose body was found Friday.

Jerry B. Combs, 34, "had been in an altercation" with Eric Tysen Fugate, 30, of Hindman, causing his death, according to a news release from state police.

Combs was taken to the Kentucky River Regional Jail in Hazard.

After Fugate's truck was found Friday morning along a surface mining road in the Triplett Branch community of Knott County, state police conducted a search of the area and found the body.

Fugate had been reported missing less than 24 hours earlier.
