Woodford County notes: Art show to help Humane Society

January 23, 2013

Raintree Framing and Gallery along with Versailles veterinarian and long-time art collector Dr. Carol McLeod have partnered to present a Collector's Choice gallery show to raise money for the Woodford Humane Society.

A gallery show of art pieces selected from McLeod's collection will be on display at Raintree Gallery beginning Thursday through Feb. 15 during the store's regular business hours of 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday.

McLeod has donated Maryjean Wall's photograph True Blue as a silent auction piece and Raintree owners have pulled from their collection of animal art (paintings, prints and photographs), which will be displayed and for sale to benefit WHS as well.

McLeod will give a tour of the show with comments about her selections and the artists who produced them at the opening reception, from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, which is when the silent auction will begin. Refreshments will be served.

Auction bids will be taken through Feb. 15 when the winner will be announced at the close of the business day.

Raintree Gallery is located at 240 Crossfield Drive off the U.S. 60 Bypass next to the Kentucky Utilities building.
