An off-duty Kentucky State Police trooper died Tuesday in a two-vehicle accident on eastbound Interstate 64 in Clark County, officials said Wednesday.

Anson Blake Tribby, 25, of Mount Sterling, was driving his midsize Toyota pickup truck when it collided about 7:30 p.m. with a flatbed wrecker operated by John Masterson, 54, of Winchester, police said.

The accident occurred near the 99-mile marker.

Police provided no information on Masterson or details about the wreck. The collision remains under investigation by state police.

Tribby, who was pronounced dead at the scene, had been a trooper for 21/2 years, police said. He was assigned to the Morehead post.
