An Irvine woman was killed Thursday afternoon when she lost control of her vehicle on Ky. 52 in Estill County.

Stephenie Schnittker, 72, was driving east when her vehicle drifted into oncoming traffic, state police said.

Schnittker's vehicle collided with a van carrying seven passengers. The passengers and the driver of the van were taken to local hospitals with minor injuries. It was estimated that both vehicles were traveling about 55 mph, officials said.
