Visions of spring will be dancing in your head

A visit to the 2013 Kentucky Sport, Boat and Recreation Show, running through Sunday, will provide a look at the latest in outdoor living and sports equipment. Among the activities: ponies, a trout tank and a zip line across Rupp Arena. (Lexington Center Heritage Hall and Rupp Arena. 1-9 p.m. Thu., Fri.; 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Sat.; 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sun. $7 adults, $3 ages 3-13, free ages 2 and younger.)


Who will be Kentucky Sportsman of the Year?

The Herald-Leader's Kentucky Sportsman of the Year award winner will be revealed during the Bluegrass Sports Awards ceremony at 6 p.m. at the Marriott Griffin Gate Resort & Spa. Could the winner be Michael Kidd-Gilchrist? He's the finalist revealed today in Sports, C1. The event will be streamed live on Kentucky. com via iHigh. 



Here's hoping that groundhog won't be seeing his shadow

All eyes will be on the weather-forecasting groundhog Punxsutawney Phil. Whether he predicts more winter (please, no!) or an early spring is anyone's guess.



For NFL fans, it's the most wonderful time of the year
