After a winter weather advisory was issued Thursday for much of Central Kentucky, snow blanketed the region on Thursday night.

One to 2 inches of snow was forecast east of Interstate 65 and across southern Kentucky. Areas west of I-65 were expected to see less snow.

Motorists were urged to prepare for rapidly deteriorating conditions over short distances, the weather service said.
