Lexington restaurant inspection scores now online

January 31, 2013

The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department will now post restaurant inspection scores on its website, Lexingtonhealthdepartment.org.

The department inspects about 1,500 establishments twice each year. This includes restaurants, school and university cafeterias, supermarkets, convenience stores, farmers markets, permanent and temporary concession stands, and anywhere else food is routinely served.

The health department said in a news release that its environmental health specialists visit each location to make sure health codes are being followed to ensure safe, sanitary conditions.
