Drug use suspected in fatal Floyd County crash

Published: February 5, 2013

State police said drug use might have contributed to a wreck in which a Floyd County man died on Sunday afternoon.

Gary L. Arnett, 56, of Martin was driving east on Ky. 1428 when he lost control of a Chevrolet truck near the WMDJ radio station at 4:41 p.m., according to a news release from state police.

The truck went off the right side of the road, hit an embankment and flipped, landing on its wheels.

Arnett, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was partially ejected and was pronounced dead at the scene.
