Trinity defensive end Hatcher expected to sign with Kentucky

Published: February 5, 2013

Trinity defensive end Jason Hatcher will announce his college decision at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the high school.

Hatcher, who has spent the last few months committed to Southern Cal, is expected to choose between USC and Kentucky.

ESPN.com quoted Hatcher's mother in a story Tuesday night that said the four-star prospect would sign with the Wildcats. That recruiting service now lists Hatcher as a UK commitment on its website.

He is the No. 182 overall prospect in the country, according to ESPN, which also ranks him as the No. 14 defensive end.

Both ESPN and Rivals consider the 6-foot-2, 240-pounder to be the third-best player in the state.

Kentucky currently has 21 commitments for its 2013 recruiting class — the first under new head coach Mark Stoops.

Live video of Hatcher's announcement will be available on Kentucky.com.

Wednesday is the first day that high school prospects are permitted to sign with their schools.
