A request for assistance was received from Janice Purdy, a social worker with the Palliative Care Program of Hospice of the Bluegrass. She is counseling a grandmother who needs $196.50 to pay an electric bill. The woman is the legal guardian of her grandchild, who suffers from a brain injury. She works part-time while the child is in school, but has had to miss work recently due to illness. Once the bill is paid, the household will again be able to manage.
