Subway restaurant in Jessamine County is robbed at gunpoint

February 6, 2013

The Jessamine County Sheriff's Office is investigating an armed robbery Tuesday night at a Subway restaurant on Springdale Drive.

A man in dark clothing with a partial covering over his face entered the store shortly after 9 p.m., a news release from the sheriff's office said. The man displayed a handgun and ordered two employees to the back of the store.

Then he brought them back to the cash register, where he ordered a female employee to give him the contents of the drawer.

After getting the cash, the robber ordered the employees into a bathroom and left with an undisclosed amount of money, the news release said.

Chief Deputy Allen Peel said the robbery is similar to one Jan. 31 at Concord Cleaners in Bellerive Plaza, across U.S. 68 from the Subway that was robbed.
