A U.S. District Court jury on Thursday found a London couple of photographing children engaged in sexual activity.
After deliberating four hours, jurors convicted Rickey L. Sherman, 58, and his wife, Corrine Sherman, 33, of producing, conspiring to produce and possessing child pornography.
Evidence presented at trial showed that the couple produced about 40 sexual images of two children who had not reached puberty. The photographs were taken in 2008, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney's office.
When Rickey Sherman was arrested for the federal offenses, he already was on probation for a previous state offense. The investigation started when police received a tip that Rickey Sherman violated his probation by having access to a computer.
Police found a digital camera that contained the images; the camera had been hidden by Corrine Sherman, the release said.
Rickey Sherman owned Truck Town Repair in Laurel County, the release said. The Shermans were indicted in U.S. District Court in London in September 2011.
Sentencing was scheduled for June 4. The Shermans face potential sentences of 15 years to life in prison.
