Man gets 14 years in prison on child-porn conviction

Published: February 12, 2013

A man has been sentenced to 14 years in prison after police found more than 3,000 images of child pornography on his computer, according to a news release.

Juan Francisco Reyes-Ramos, 31, was sentenced Monday in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky.

His sentence was enhanced because some of the images were considered violent, according to the news release.

Last May, state police found images and traced them to a Woodford County IP address belonging to Reyes-Ramos. Many of the approximately 3,000 images depicted adults in sexually explicit positions with children.

Under federal law, he must serve at least 85 percent of his sentence.

The investigation was conducted by the FBI, state police and the Department of Homeland Security Investigations — U.S. Immigration and Customs enforcement.
