Lots of sweeties can get Valentine's Day sweets from Old Kentucky Chocolates in Lexington.Owner Don Hurt said the store will have 7,000 pounds of chocolate-covered strawberries and 3,000 pounds of chocolate-covered grapes ready for Valentine's Day, and he expected customers to be lined up in front of the Southland Drive store Thursday as if it were Black Friday. The store will open at 7 a.m. Thursday.
To prepare the strawberries for chocolate coating, four people take stems off the strawberries and line them up to go through a machine on a conveyor. It takes 12 to 14 minutes from the time the strawberries go on the machine to the time they are ready to be boxed.
