A man was taken to the hospital Monday night after being shot in the leg on Ohio Street in Lexington.
His injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
The man told police he and his girlfriend were parked along Ohio Street when two men approached and told them to "give them the stuff," said Lt. Dean Marcum.
The victim said he and his girlfriend gave the men some money, then got out of the car and tried to walk away.
Then one of the men shot him in the right calf, and the two men left in a vehicle.
The incident happened on the 400 block of Ohio Street about 8:15 p.m.
Marcum said the shooter was described as about 5 feet tall and 150 pounds, with shoulder-length dreadlocks and a black coat. He goes by the name Shorty.
