Lexington police released a photo of the suspect in Monday's robbery of the U.S. Bank branch on Richmond Road. The image was captured on the bank's surveillance equipment.

A man sought in a Lexington bank robbery was arrested Monday in Bowling Green, Lexington police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said Tuesday.

Last week, police obtained an arrest warrant for Christopher A. Schenk, 45, in connection with the Jan. 28 robbery at a U.S. Bank branch on Richmond Road. Schenk was charged with robbery.

Employees told police that a man entered the bank at 2653 Richmond Road about 1:30 p.m. Jan. 28. He came in behind a teller who was returning from lunch.

The robber then pointed a dark semi-automatic pistol at one of the tellers and demanded cash. Two tellers complied, and the robber fled. Roberts said she had no additional information at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
