Toyota announced Tuesday that it will begin exporting Venzas, midsize crossover SUVs that are made at its flagship North American plant in Georgetown, to Russia and Ukraine.

The automaker said the exports will begin in April and will include 5,000 during the first year, according to a statement.

Toyota exported more than 124,000 vehicles assembled in the United States to 21 global markets in 2012. That was an increase of 45 percent compared to 2011, according to the statement.
