Madison County: Consignment sale, caregiver program, club meetings

The Spring/Summer Little Ones' Consignment Sale will be 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m.-noon Saturday at the First United Methodist Church on Main Street in Richmond. Visit Locsofrichmond.com for more information.

Alzheimer's caregivers

Living with Alzheimer's Disease for Early-Stage Alzheimer's Caregivers will be 10 a.m.-noon March 13 at the Madison County Cooperative Extension Office, 230 Duncannon Lane, Richmond.

Participants will learn the common symptoms and behaviors seen in early-stage Alzheimer's and how to address them. Additionally, caregivers will learn about what lies ahead legally and financially, the importance of early planning, and how to build an effective care team.

To register for this program, call 1-800-272-3900 or email infoky-in@alz.org. Registration is required. A $5 programming fee is suggested for family caregivers.

Club meetings

Madison County Democratic Woman's Club will meet at 6 p.m. March 11 at Irvinton at City Park, 345 Lancaster Avenue, in the blue building that houses Richmond tourism offices. At this meeting, the 2013 scholarship winner will be announced.

On March 15-16 the Berea Club will host the Kentucky Democratic Woman's Club spring board meeting at Boone Tavern in Berea. Those wishing to attend should contact Estelle Bayer at (859) 624-1389 by March 7. Speakers will include Rita Smart, Crit Luallen and Steven Connelly. The club is still accepting members for 2013. Dues are $10.
