A Mt. Sterling man was charged with murder after he allegedly hit and killed a woman while driving impaired.
Johnny Moore, 34, was also charged with driving under the influence, according to a news release from Kentucky State Police.
State police said that the victim, 79-year-old Martha Vivian of Clay City, was driving on KY 11 in Powell County around 10 p.m. Thursday when she lost control and went into a ditch.
As Vivian stood next to her disabled car, Moore hit her with his 1982 GMC pickup truck, fatally injuring her, state police said.
