A Wilmore man died Thursday afternoon in a one-vehicle crash southwest of Nicholasville, according to a news release from the Jessamine County Sheriff's Office.

Benjamin Sims, 36, was pronounced dead at the scene on Long Shun Road, across from Nicholasville's wastewater treatment plant.

The collision happened shortly before 6 p.m. Thursday, the news release said. Sims was driving a 2000 Nissan pickup truck that left the road and struck a tree.

Alcohol is not suspected in the collision, the news release said.
