Retailer Nordstrom announced plans Thursday to open its first Kentucky store.
The company said it will open a Nordstrom Rack this fall in Louisville. The 33,000-square-foot store will be in the former Circuit City space at Shelbyville Road Plaza, according to a statement.
Nordstrom Rack is the off-price division of Nordstrom and carries merchandise that is typically 50 percent to 60 percent off original Nordstrom prices.
"We've been looking for ways to better serve our customers living in Kentucky who have been making the drive to visit us in Cincinnati and Indianapolis," Geevy Thomas, president of Nordstrom Rack, said in a statement.
Nordstrom operates nearly 250 stores in 31 states.
