A crash Friday morning in Estill County resulted in two deaths and a father and son being airlifted to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital.

At about 11 a.m., a Chevy Monte Carlo driving south veered off Pea Ridge Road (Ky. 594) and crashed into a tree, state police Trooper Paul Blanton said.

Nancy Moore, 45, and her niece, Laura Jones, 29, riding in the back seat of the vehicle, both died in the crash.

Darrell Spicer Sr., 50, and Darrell Spicer Jr., 23, were injured. Their conditions were not immediately available.

All victims are of Irvine.

Blanton said it is unclear what caused the car to drive off the road and whether the victims were wearing seat belts; an investigation continues.
