Churchill Downs to move annual meeting to Illinois

Churchill Downs Inc. will hold its annual meeting on April 23 at Arlington International Racecourse in Chicago, rather than at Churchill Downs' flagship track in Louisville, according to the company's proxy filed with the SEC.

Traditionally, Churchill shareholders have met during the spring meet at the Louisville track. Arlington Park is the base of board member Richard Duchossois, Churchill Downs Inc.'s largest shareholder.

"The company will make the determination each year where we will have the annual meeting that year," spokeswoman Courtney Yopp Norris told The Courier-Journal of Louisville. "This new location this year will offer shareholders a chance to see one of CDI's other properties."
