Three Augusta pitchers combined for 15 strikeouts and retired the last 20 consecutive batters as the GreenJackets took a 4-0 win over the visiting Lexington Legends in the season opener for both teams.

Augusta starter Martin Agosta (1-0) survived a bases-loaded, one-out jam in the first inning and went on to strike out nine batters in five innings to get the win. He allowed all four Lexington hits.

After Lexington's Raul Mondesi struck out to lead off the game, Humberto Arteaga and Bubba Starling singled, and Mark Threlkeld was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Agosta escaped by getting Cam Gallagher to ground into a double play.

The GreenJackets took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first. After Legends' starter Bryan Brickhouse retired the first two batters, Mitch Delfino reached when shrotstop Mondesi threw wide for an error. Rafael Rodriguez's single to center moved Delfino to third, and he scored on a hit by Joe Rapp. Rodriguez scored from third on a single by Charles Jones.

Augusta added a run in the fifth inning and another in the seventh against reliever Ali Williams.

Brickhouse, a right-hander from Charlotte, N.C., allowed five hits, struck out seven and walked one in four innings.
