Jessamine man died of multiple gunshot wounds, sheriff's office says

Herald-Leader Staff ReportApril 6, 2013

An autopsy determined Saturday that a Jessamine County man died of multiple gunshot wounds, said Sgt. Larry Oliver of the sheriff's office.

The body of Dale Monty Burgess, 49, was found shortly after noon Friday in his house at 1034 Elm Fork Road about 3 miles southeast of Nicholasville, Oliver said.

The state medical examiner's office in Frankfort performed the autopsy, Oliver said.

Burgess was disabled and had lived at the house for about 10 years. The body was found in the bathroom, he said.

No suspects have been interviewed, but there are two or three people of interest that the sheriff's office hopes to speak with, Oliver said.

The case is under investigation by Detective John Bourne of the sheriff's office. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the sheriff's office at (859) 885-9512.
