April 8, 2013

A Bourbon County man was arrested Sunday in connection with the armed robbery of a convenience store, the Bourbon County Sheriff's Office said.

George Cooke, 49, of North Middletown was charged with first-degree robbery and lodged in the Bourbon County Detention Center.

Cooke is accused of robbing at knifepoint an employee of Crouch's Country Boy Store in North Middletown shortly before 6 a.m. Sunday. A masked man forced the clerk to turn over an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register, then fled on foot.

After a short investigation with assistance from Paris police, Cooke was arrested. All the money was recovered.
