A man arrested in Ohio for the death of a Lexington woman was booked in the Fayette County jail Tuesday.

Deputies transported Jeffrey Jackson, 34, from a jail in Dayton, Ohio, after he declined to fight extradition April 1, the office of Fayette County Sheriff Kathy Witt said in a news release.

Jackson is charged with murder for the death of his girlfriend, Quantina Reed, 34. On March 27, the mother of two was found with a gunshot wound to the head in the garage of her Scottsdale Drive home.

Reed's friends and family said Jackson took Reed's car to Dayton. He was arrested there by a U.S. Marshal's task force several hours after Reed's body was discovered.

Reed and Jackson had been dating for several months. The sheriff's news release classified the murder charge as domestic violence.

Jackson is scheduled to be arraigned in Fayette District Court on Wednesday, the release said.

He is being held without bond.
