Jack Daniel's production chief to retire

Tommy Beam, senior vice president and general manager of Jack Daniel's production in Lynchburg, Tenn., will retire at the end of July, Brown-Forman announced Tuesday.

Beam has been with the company for 48 years. He has overseen expansion of production, which reached 11 million 9-liter cases of Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey worldwide in fiscal 2012, the Louisville-based company said.

Brown-Forman also announced that Larry Combs will succeed Beam.
