Specialty and other license plates gain interest in Kentucky

More than 3.7 million vehicles sport Kentucky license plates. Of those, non-military special registration plates from law enforcement and trailers to farm vehicles and state legislators account for nearly 15 percent of all plates. That category, available since 1995, also includes optional plates customizable for your favorite university, charity or other organization.
