Fire at home in Harlan kills woman, injures son

A woman died and her adult son was injured in a fire at a home in Harlan County on Friday.

Marjorie Boggs, 81, of Gap Branch in Lynch, died at Harlan ARH Hospital.

Her son Robert Boggs, 63, of Hueytown, Ala., was injured and was treated and released from Harlan ARH.

Firefighters were called to the home just before 3 p.m. Friday, according to a news release from state police.

Foul play is not suspected, but the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
