Workers prepare Nicholasville pool for May 25 opening

April 22, 2013

Employees cleaned, painted and monitored or adjusted water levels Monday to prepare the Nicholasville/Jessamine County Aquatic Center for its 11th season opening on May 25.

The center is in the Riney B Park, 2088 Martin Luther King Boulevard, and it opens for summer at 11 a.m. May 25.

Under a sunny sky and in temperatures in the low 70s Monday, workers used a power washer on some pool areas. They also did some painting and adjusted water levels.

Daily admission prices, according to the YMCA's website for the pool, are $4 for children ages 3 to 15, and $6 for older teens and adults. Children 2 and younger get in free.

Season passes are $180 for families and $100 a person.

Lexington's aquatic centers, including Woodland, Castlewood, Tates Creek and Southland, also open May 25. The city's remaining neighborhood pools open June 1
