A woman has been charged in connection with a standoff Wednesday at a home on Parkers Mill Road in Lexington, police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said.

Accused of firing shots inside a house Tuesday night, Nancy Stamper, 36, was charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, police said.

A man outside the house told police that a woman inside had fired shots at him about 10 p.m., but police could not make contact with the woman, Roberts said Thursday.

An emergency response unit entered the home at 2:46 a.m. Wednesday, Roberts said.

Stamper remained at the Fayette County Detention Center on Thursday, spokeswoman Jennifer Taylor said.
