UK students use environmental banners to decorate vacant, visible Lexington block

April 25, 2013

As part of Earth Week, more than 100 University of Kentucky attempted to raise awareness of environmental concerns through artwork displayed in downtown Lexington, where buildings were cleared to make way for the CentrePointe development that did not materialize.

In groups, the students designed and painted murals as part of the UK Core Pathways to Creativity class. The students displayed their banners on the fence around the CentrePointe property at Limestone and Main Street. Photos by Charles Bertram
