May 5, 2013

A Glasgow woman died Saturday in a two-vehicle crash, Somerset police said.

Mary Wells, 58, was airlifted to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital in Lexington, where she was pronounced dead by the Fayette County coroner's office.

Wells was a passenger in Ford Focus driven by Larhonda Tackett, 37, of Vincent. Police said Tackett was eastbound on Stillwater Drive and was trying to pull onto U.S. 27 when she pulled into the path of a 1993 Jeep Cherokee.

Tackett and another passenger, Rita Hudson, 37, of Tyner, were treated at the scene by the Somerset-Pulaski County EMS.

The driver of the Jeep Cherokee, Lacey Denney, 26, of Waynesburg, also was treated at the scene.

The crash was reported at 10:15 a.m. Saturday on north U.S. 27 about a half-mile south of the Cumberland Parkway overpass.

All occupants were wearing seat belts at the time of the collision, police said.
