University of Kentucky dean named finalist for provost job in Montana

Dan O'Hair, dean of the University of Kentucky College of Communications and interim senior vice provost, is a finalist for the provost's job at the University of Montana.

O'Hair will make a campus visit on Thursday, May 9, according to a news release from the Missoula school. He is one of three finalists.

He also was a finalist for the provost's job at the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga last month.

O'Hair has been dean at UK since 2009, and an interim senior vice provost since 2012. His wife is Mary John O'Hair, dean of UK's College of Education.

Dan O'Hair was not immediately available for comment on Monday.

Last week, UK hired a new provost, Christine Riordan, dean of the business school at the University of Denver.
