A man from Henry County was attacked with a machete at his home Monday morning.

A driver on Ky. 22 in Bethlehem called police after passing Christopher Cooper, 29, who was standing alongside the road "trying to flag cars down," at 5:08 a.m., according to a news release from state police.

Cooper and "an unknown assailant" had been fighting outside Cooper's home, witnesses told police. During the fight, Cooper was hit in the head with a machete and stabbed in his side, according to the release.

He was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital. His injuries were not life-threatening, state police said.
