A woman recanted her report that a man grabbed her from behind and choked her at Eastern Kentucky University, campus police said Friday.

EKU police issued a safety alert Friday based on the woman's claim that she was attacked about 2 a.m. by an unknown person between McGregor Hall and the Weaver Building on the EKU campus in Richmond.

After further investigation, the woman said the attack didn't occur, officials said.
