FRANKFORT — A coroner says blunt-force trauma to the head and face killed a woman found dead inside a Frankfort apartment.
Franklin County Coroner Will Harrod told The State Journal (http://bit.ly/19iVU7T) that a subdural hematoma — blood vessels rupturing near the brain — killed Gypsy Reyes, 28. Police found Reyes dead Friday inside her apartment. Brian Reed, 41, was charged with murder.
Maj. Fred Deaton said a friend who was at Reyes' apartment Thursday night told police that Reed showed up and took Reyes to the back of the apartment.
Deaton said the friend heard Reyes scream and a noise, then Reed kicked everyone out of the apartment.
When the friend returned Friday morning, Reed answered the door, and the friend saw Reyes' body covered with a blanket.
Jail records did not list an attorney for Reed.
