Columbia Gas Co. employees capped a gas leak late Monday morning at Farm Road and University Drive, allowing nearby university buildings that had been evacuated about 11 a.m. to reopen, University of Kentucky officials said in a news release.

The E.S. Good Barn, the Barnhart Building, the Plant and Soil Sciences Building and the Gluck Center were temporarily evacuated. The leak occurred when a one-inch gas line was struck during construction, the news release said.
