Ed Jones no longer principal of West Jessamine High School

May 16, 2013

Ed Jones is no longer principal at West Jessamine High School, but Jessamine County Superintendent Lu Young said Thursday she cannot discuss the reason why until an ongoing personnel action is finished.

Tuesday was Jones' last day as principal, but he had been on suspension with pay since April 29, Young said. She declined to say whether Jones resigned or was fired. Jones had been principal at the 1,050-student high school since 2006.

Personnel actions typically take 20 to 30 days to complete, Young said.

Assistant Principal Scott Wells is acting principal, Young said.
