BEREA, Ky. — Police in Berea have charged a woman and her boyfriend with criminal abuse of the woman's four children.

WKYT-TV ( http://bit.ly/16mE1ZS) in Lexington reported 25-year-old Amber Bishop and 28-year-old Daniel Isaacs were arrested Wednesday after ropes and chains were found in the children's bedroom.

Police said Bishop admitted using the restraints to keep the children confined and Isaacs said he locked the kids in the room. Both are held at the Madison County Detention Center.

The children are in state custody. Two are age 6; the others are ages 5 and 2.

Sgt. Jake Reed with the Berea Police Department said the children were confined at night without a bathroom.
