A Corbin man used the web site Topix to solicit a killer, Kentucky State Police have charged.

Detective Richie Baxter arrested Tristan James Hall, 29, on Thursday on a charge of solicitation to commit murder.

Hall allegedly posted an item on Topix saying he would pay someone to kill another person. The intended victim saw the post and contacted police, said Trooper First Class Don Trosper, spokesman for the London state police post.

Police tracked the comment back to Hall, Trosper said. The person Hall said he wanted killed did not think the threat was credible, but did not know for sure, Trosper said.

Hall allegedly posted the item some time ago. The investigation took five months, in part because of the need to trace the post through Hall's Internet service provider.

Hall turned himself in Thursday, according to a news release.
