— Police in Danville are bringing back bicycle patrols.

The Advocate-Messenger (http://bit.ly/11F0Pmb) reports five city officers and one Boyle County deputy were training this week at Millennium Park for certifications.

Chief Rafael Casas of Western Kentucky University Police Department traveled to the city to provide the training and says it includes teaching officers different maneuvers, such as how to move around in a large crowd.

Danville police Detective Lisa McAnly there hasn't been a bike patrol since she started at the agency three years ago, and she worked with Chief Tony Gray to restart it.

Gray said the class ended Thursday, and he plans to use the new bike patrol during a March for Babies event this weekend.
